The net worth of Lord Balaji at Tirumala Hill shrine has reportedly created a ‘New Record’ when compared to the market capitalization of significant stock market-listed companies in the nation.

The net worth of the deity’s assets is close to Rs 3 lakh crore. In contrast, the market capitalization of major companies listed in the stock market, like TATA Motors, Nestle, and Bajaj Finserv, is reportedly valued at Rs 2.6 lakh crore.

Lord Balaji’s assets include 10.25 tonnes of gold deposits in banks, 2.5 tonnes of gold jewelry, about Rs 16,000 crore of bank deposits, and 960 properties across India. All these total to over Rs 2.5 lakh crore. At the current trading price, the net worth of Tirupati Temple is more than several blue-chip Indian firms, according to stock exchange data.

The annual income of the Hundi at the sacred hill shrine is said to be more than the annual income of Indian cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. While Tendulkar earned Rs 1,300 crore and Kohli earned Rs 1,000 crore, the annual income of Lord Balaji’s Hundi in Tirumala registered a whopping amount of Rs 1,400 crore.

In a Rs 3,100 crore annual budget for 2022-23 presented in February, the TTD projected over Rs 668 crore as income in the form of interest from bank cash deposits. Also, Rs 1,000 crore income was predicted in the form of cash offerings alone – by about 2.5 crore devotees – in the hundi of the hill temple.
