Anant Ambani reveals “Vantara” as a welfare initiative for animals. This is aimed at providing world class conservation for animals and also takes care of animal practices.

This Vantara will be focusing on rescue, treatment, care and rehabilitation of animals. This initiative became possible only by conceptualizing under the leadership of Anant Ambani and he was the one who announced this program on 26th February 2024. What Is Vantara Mission?

The director of Reliance Industries Limited and Reliance Foundation “Anant Ambani” have announced the program and initiative called as “Vantara”.

This program will be looking after animals in India and as well as foreign countries. The main focus of the program is to treat, rescue, care for animals which include rehabilitation of injured and threatened animals. while giving the speech as part of initiative Anant Ambani said it was his mission from a young age and became possible through his brilliant and committed team.

He further added that the team is focusing on the animals which are in the list of endangered species in Indian as a primary motive. This Vantara program will be looking after the immediate need of threats of species. This will be established as a leading-edge conservation program with all the requirements and support to the program.

India’s and world’s top zoological and medical experts have joined in the initiative along with all the support from government, research and educational institutions. Vantara is going to collaborate with Zoo Authority of India and several other government organizations that supports in improving zoos.

A total of 150+ zoos are part of initiative for its improvement in aspects like training, capacity building and animal care infrastructure. 3000 acres within Green Belt of Reliance’s Jamnagar Refinery Complex of Gujarat has been already converted into Jungle environment that looks so natural, enrich, habitat for the rescued species.

200 Elephants Rescued:

In last 2 years the program has already rescued more than 200 elephants, thousands of animals such as birds, reptiles. They have taken rehabilitation care of Rhino, leopards and crocodiles which are in endangered list in future.

This mission has supported rescue operations in countries like Mexico, Venezuela etc., in India. This mission has collaborated with National Zoological Parks, Assam state zoo, Nagaland Zoological Park, Sardar Patel Zoological Park which is part of the mission in India. 600acre has been developed as a natural habitat for elephants as part of this Vantara mission.

What’s Inside Vantara:

A veterinary hospital with state-of-the-art technology has been developed with MRI & CT scan machines along with surgical centers. This Vantara zoological park located in Reliance’s Jamnagar, and it will be opening soon. This zoo has over 2000 rescued animals which have been brought from across the country and other parts of the world. A highly professional team of 300-400 members will be taking care of elephants and other animals. This mission authority has obtained all permissions and approval for bringing the animals from across the country with respective state wildlife boards.

When Vantara Started?:

Anant Ambani has recalled an incident when he was 12-year-old, about an elephant that has been provided with hospitality as it was with ‘mahavat’ under peak heat. He said this incident was the one which brought the idea for this mission and through his mother’s inspiration it became possible to gain scientific knowledge over the decades about the animals and how to take care of them.  This will show how an organisation can work towards the welfare of animals through driving spirit and inspiration.
