The Lancet Regional Health in Western Pacific is where this study was performed! Researchers at Sichuan University in Chengdu, China surveyed 5,998 British people aged 37 to 73 years. In China, a survey was conducted among 7,931 people whose age was 30 to 79 years. The researchers learned and analyzed their tea-drinking habits!
Researchers found that people who drank tea daily showed fewer signs of aging. Most of these were men, who were eating healthy food and also consuming alcohol. The problems of stress, restlessness, and sleeplessness were less seen in them.
The people included in the research were asked which tea they drank. Which included black, green, yellow, or traditional Chinese tea. Apart from this, it was also asked how many cups of tea he drinks in a day. After this, the researchers measured their biological age including their body fat. Cholesterol and blood pressure are included.
According to the authors of the research in Newsweek, the highest anti-aging effect was seen in people who drank three cups of tea a day, or consumed 6-8 grams of tea leaves. That means people who drink tea daily remain young for more years.
However, researchers said that the study is only observational, it has not yet been proven that drinking tea reduces biological age. The study states that people who stopped drinking tea started showing signs of ageing
