Tata Memorial Centre or Hospital (TMC) in Mumbai has announced a remarkable milestone in Cancer treatment that showed promising results. They have announced a tablet costing only 100rs which is quite impressive and affordable compared to other treatments.
This tablet can decrease the side effects caused by cancer treatment therapies and as well as stop cancer from occurring again in body cells. We have provided all the information regarding the announcement made by the senior director of the hospital after their breakthrough research.

Finding a cancer cure has been a motive for many companies across many countries in the world. However, there have been certain breakthroughs in providing treatments that were very expensive with few side effects. But Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai has a breakthrough as part of their decade-long research for providing cancer cure.
The senior director of the hospital “Rajendra Badwe” has announced a drug, in the form of a tablet that can stop cancer from occurring again at a very affordable price of 100rs. The hospital authority has sent an application for approval to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) after approval medicine will be available in the market by June-July 2024.
The senior director said they have tested this drug on rats for its effect over side effects and prevention which was successful. However, human trials take around 5-6 years to get completed after the approval for testing on humans.
How R+CU Drug Work:
The senior director claimed the drug was able to reduce the side effects of treatments of cancer like chemotherapy and radiation by 50%. This drug can also prevent cell-free chromatin particles that are caused after the cancer treatments of radiation and chemotherapy.
These cell-free chromatin particles are released by cancer cells while they are dying after the cancer treatment is done. The tablet was named “R+CU” which contains ‘resveratrol’ and ‘copper’ that generates oxygen radicals in the stomach when consumed.
These radicals destroy chromatin particles that are caused due to destroying cancer cells through cancer treatment. These chromatin particles turn normal cells into cancer cells which is the main reason for cancer to be death-free by causing new tumours in the body.
Rats Trials Successful:
This tablet also supports preventing cancer cells from moving from one part of the body to another part which is a process known as ‘Metastasis’. Doctors had done a small experiment on rats by implanting human breast cancer cells. Within 6 weeks a tumor was formed in rats and doctors divided the rats into categories of treatment like chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery.
These three procedures increased the chromatin cells in rats and found the combination of resveratrol and copper has successfully destroyed all the chromatin cells in rats. Along with this this drug also prevented metastasis. However, doctors have to research humans to know how efficiently it will work when compared with rats to know in detail. If become successful in human trials then we can expect affordable treatment for cancer in India.
Revolutionary Treatment:
The Tata Hospital doctors have been working on this tablet for a decade and has great affordability and effectiveness to cure cancer-causing cells. Doctors believe this drug can be effective in other cancer treatments like pancreatic, lung, and oral cancers.
However, the hospital is looking for approval from the FSSAI Drug Regulatory Authority for its human trials. This provides a 50% reduction in side effects of cancer treatments and a 30% reduction in chances for occurring cancer after the treatment.
Researchers around the world are hoping to create a permanent cure as soon as possible through the technology available these days. Even Russian President Vladimir Putin said his country is very close to creating the world’s first cancer vaccines which will made available to the public soon.
The Senior Director of Tata Memorial Hospital said people have to wait until the human trials are completed to know about the complete benefits of this drug. This will improve cancer treatment at affordable prices if becomes successful in humans.
