The unusual deaths of Indian students in the USA concern the students and families who are planning to study abroad and who are already studying in the USA.

Two mysterious deaths along with one brutal murder of an Indian student took place in a week raising tensions and concerns regarding the safety of students. Unfolding the lives of Indian students deaths in the USA which become a controversy and concern since 2024.

Mystery Of Serial Deaths:

1st Vivek Saini Death Case –

Vivek Saini a 25-year MBA graduate was killed by a drug addict after providing shelter in Saini where he used to work at the restaurant. A drug addict named Julian Faulkner was given shelter by Saini with food and water for 2 days in Georgia who was later asked to leave by Saini himself, who otherwise would face legal action when he felt unsafe. This led to uncontrollable anger in Julian who killed Saini with a hammer on his face by stabbing him 50 times however he was at the dead body when police arrived and caught him which was shown on TV in the USA on January 16th.

2nd Neel Acharya Death Case –

Neel Acharya 19-year-old, a student at Purdue University in Indiana died after missing for days. His dead body was found in the campus itself where the management informed the police about a possible dead body. However, the investigation is still going on about the cause of death.

3rd Akul B Dhawan Death Case –

18-year-old Akul B Dhawan a student at the University of Illinois Urbana, Champaign was found dead with signs of Hypothermia and went missing for 10 hours on January 20th with a dead body found at the backside of a building near the University campus. Along with this 24 years Varun Raj Pucha and 23 years Jaahnavi Kandula were dead due to a gym partner and police officer respectively.

4th The Recent Shreyas Reddy Benigeri Death Case –

Now Shreyas Reddy Benigeri a student of Linder School of Business, Cincinnati Ohio was found dead with no cause of death, along no foul play is suspected in the latest investigation reports as of now. The Indian embassy is in touch with the family with all the possible assistance.

Indian Student Facing Discrimination:

As per reports, the Indian students in the USA are facing racism and discomfort related to physical safety. However, statistics from the Indian government stated the reasons behind the deaths include natural causes, accidents and bad health conditions as stated by the Ministry of External Affairs in Rajya Sabha in December 2023.

Indian students have been facing huge discrimination in the USA with no proper action taken on the cause of death for many years which is a concern to think of.

Indian Student Growth In USA:

There was a 35% increase in the number of students going from India to the USA in 2023 and a total of 12% rise in international students in the USA as per data in November 2023. The USA has allotted 2,69,000 seats only to Indian students which was the highest for any country students, showing how both countries are involved in providing the services equally.

However, the safety laws can be improved regarding Indian students so that racism and discrimination are eliminated. Even the USA has increased the H1B visa charges where most Indians avail the same to plan for studies abroad where the USA should implement the necessary laws in extra support to Indian students.(Fees Hikes Of H1B & Green Card)

Conclusion:

Deaths of Indian students have seen a huge rise in the USA where the US government failed to bring support to Indian students. The country’s laws are very strict even for its children but doesn’t care about Indian students.

The investigations will be going on without any findings of the cause of deaths until the pressure on the investigation department is lowered so that it might look in progress of a clear investigation which might not. Although many deaths of students are reported, many students are safe and studying. Safety and care should be taken by one himself to make sure of high security and best stay so that there will be no concerns regarding safety.
