Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate and lay the foundation for several new educational institutions in Jammu, with a total project value of ₹13,375 crore.
The Prime Minister’s Office emphasized that this inauguration marks a significant stride in upgrading and developing education and skilling infrastructure nationwide. The projects encompass permanent campuses for IIT-Bhilai, IIT-Tirupati, IIT-Jammu, the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing in Kancheepuram, and the Indian Institute of Skills in Kanpur. Additionally, two campuses of the Central Sanskrit University will be established at Devprayag in Uttarakhand and Agartala in Tripura.
PM Modi will also unveil three new IIMs in Jammu, Bodh Gaya, and Visakhapatnam, along with 20 new buildings for Kendriya Vidyalayas and 13 new Navodaya Vidyalayas at various locations. Furthermore, he will lay the foundation stone for five Kendriya Vidyalaya campuses, one Navodaya Vidyalaya campus, and five multipurpose halls for Navodaya Vidyalayas nationwide.
In another significant development, PM Modi will inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Vijaypur (Samba) in Jammu. This institute, initiated with the Prime Minister’s foundational stone in February 2019, is part of the Central sector scheme Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, costing over 1,660 crore and spanning an area of 227 acres.
The AIIMS facility is equipped with 720 beds, a medical college with 125 seats, a nursing college with 60 seats, and an AYUSH block with 30 beds!
At the inauguration event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “I have full faith in you, & we will make ‘Viksit Jammu and Kashmir.’ Your dreams of 70 years will be fulfilled by Modi in the coming years. Earlier, only disappointing news of bombs, kidnappings & separation used to come from Jammu and Kashmir, but now Jammu and Kashmir is developing and moving forward” he added
India has the most recordable number of schools, colleges & universities established in India in the last 10 years of the BJP government! In J & K alone, 50 new degree colleges were set up by the central government.
“There was a time when schools were burnt with violence & extreme terrorism, today schools are being decorated. Today, health facilities are improving rapidly in Jammu and Kashmir. Before 2014, there were 4 medical colleges in Jammu and Kashmir with the least amount of interest in infrastructure of these colleges, now there are 12 medical colleges with high facilities” PM Modi added as he spoke up on education improvising under his guidance.
