Nitish Kumar returns to BJP by resigning as CM of Bihar after breaking ties with Mahagathbandhan party. He has submitted his resignation to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhavan in Patna. He will be overlooking the CM until the new government is formed which might show an impact in upcoming elections as we detail everything here which takes a few seconds to read.
Nitish Kumar’s Exit From Grand Alliance:
Nitish Kumar broke the ties in August 2022 with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) where he joined Mahagathbandhan of Lalu Yadav’s RJD and Congress which is called a grand alliance. Similarly, he has resigned now as CM and parted ways from the RJD and Congress which is a ruling party in Bihar.
Regarding the latest resignation of Kumar, the BJP is to submit its letter of support to Nitish Kumar to claim and form the new alliance government. As per reports, Nitish Kumar will be appointing new ministers once he becomes the CM under BJP. The assembly numbers have been changed after Nitish Kumar’s latest resignation which are numbered below.
Janata Dal Is Blaming Congress:
The Janata Dal blamed Congress for Nitish Kumar’s exit from the INDIA bloc. It said Congress has led a conspiracy with Mamatha Banerjee to propose Mallikarjuna Kharge as the Prime Minister’s face in the bloc. On the 19th December meeting of the INDIA bloc Congress wanted to steal the leadership of the INDIA bloc through a conspiracy where Mallikarjuna’s name was proposed but in earlier meetings, it was decided that the bloc would run without any PM face as agreed unanimously.
The congress pulled seat sharing to fight and plan against BJP and Nitish denied the PM’s face would be decided later which led to his disrespect in the bloc meeting fighting for his existence in the bloc later might be the reason for his exit and resignation.
A Big Failure Of Grand Alliance:
The exact reason for leaving Mahagathbandhan is unknown but he stated that “this situation came because not everything was alright” Along with this he also stated he was listening to all of them and said today the government has been dissolved. He was the head of the Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc where he blamed the INDIA bloc’s slow progress in taking on BJP for his exit.
Several reports said the INDIA bloc is at its end to collapse with no further alliance in Punjab, West Bengal and Bihar. He claimed that he was making all efforts to make the INDIA bloc running but no response came which led to resigning after considering all views.
Next Government In Hands Of BJP:
During his presence in the Mahagathbandhan party CM had a total of 159 MLA’s but after the latest exit, it has only 151 MLA’s which falls short of 8 MLA’s to form the next government. The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has 79 MLA’s and BJP has 78 MLA’s but with the addition of Nitish Kumar’s 8 MLA’s BJP is ahead of RJD to form the next government under Nitish Kumar while Congress does not have much to play here as they have only 19 MLA’s. The majority mark in total 243 seats of Bihar is 122 to form the government.
Nitish Kumar’s new cabinet will be holding its first meeting at 5.30 pm, shortly after the swearing-in ceremony at 5 Pm.
Conclusion:
Reports claim the resignation comes after an informal meeting with the Janata Dal at Kumar’s residency while congress leader Jairam Ramesh said the INDIA bloc is not at the end of collapse but the country is collapsing in the hands of BJP along with congress general secretary saying this will not have any impact on INDIA bloc instead this will strengthen the bloc. On the other hand, Nitish Kumar is ready to form the government on the same day if all the members of the party agree.
