Good news for Indian travelers: now you can travel to 62 countries without worrying about visas. India has been ranked the 80th spot in the world’s most powerful passports list.
India’s Passport Rank 80th In Index:
Henley Passport Index New Press Release: India’s Passport ranked 80th on the world’s most powerful passports list, with citizens having the authority to travel to 62 countries without a visa. Out of 194 countries, previously, it was 57 countries.
As per the Henley Passport Index, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore & Spain start 2024 with the world’s most powerful passport by survey, allowing visa-free entry to 194 global destinations! The ranking authorized is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Other Countries Passport Rank:
Japan & Singapore have consistently dominated the #1 spot for the past five consecutive years. However, this quarter’s ranking showcases European nations jumping up with more progressive remarks!
Finland & Sweden tied with South Korea in 2nd place, offering visa-free access to 193 countries out of 194 countries.
Austria, Denmark, Ireland & Netherlands secure 3rd position, providing passport holders access to 192 countries.
India’s passport ranked 80th on the list, with Indians being allowed to travel to 62 countries without a visa, including popular tourist destinations like Indonesia, Malaysia & Thailand. India shares its current rank with Uzbekistan, while Pakistan, a neighboring country for India, is ranked at the #101 spot.
Chairman of Henley & Partners, AKA Christian H Kaelin & Creator of the passport index, highlighted the widening global mobility gap between Western countries! Despite trending travel freedom & increased popularity of international travel in the last two decades, the difference between the index’s top rank & bottom-ranked countries has reached an all-time high.
Mr. Chairman stated, “The average number of countries travelers can access ‘Visa-free’ has nearly doubled from 58 in 2006 to 111 in 2024.”
Conclusion:
Reports emphasized that the top-ranked countries now enjoy the privilege of traveling to an astonishing 166 more countries without Visa requirements than bottom-ranked Afghanistan, i.e., 104th rank with access to just 28 countries without a VISA! Syria, with visa-free access to only 29 destinations at 103rd rank, holds the second-lowest position, followed by Iraq with 31 & Pakistan with 34 at 101th rank.
