In a strategic move to strengthen ties and facilitate travel between India and Dubai, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has introduced a game-changing five-year multiple-entry visa. This initiative aims to boost sustained economic collaborations, encourage tourism, and enhance business ties between the two regions.

The visa, issued within two to five working days, provides operational flexibility, allowing holders to stay in the country for 90 days, extendable once for a similar period, with a total stay not exceeding 180 days in one year.

Indians became the No.1 Market for Dubai:

Dubai has emerged as a leading destination for Indian tourists, witnessing an exceptional 34% year-on-year growth in 2023. The city welcomed a staggering 2.46 million overnight visitors from India during the year, a 25% increase from the pre-pandemic era. This rise in tourists contributed significantly to Dubai’s record-breaking tourism performance, positioning India as the number one source market.

Improved Business flexibility:

The five-year multiple-entry visa offers operational flexibility for both business engagements and leisure travel. Tourists can leverage multiple entries and exits, providing seamless connectivity between India and Dubai. This flexibility is expected to cater to the diverse needs of travelers, from last-minute trips to planned family vacations, contributing to a richer and more convenient travel experience.

Advantages of the Five-Year Multiple-Entry Visa:

  • Extended Stay: Holders can stay in Dubai for 90 days, with the option to extend their visit once for a similar period, allowing for a total stay of up to 180 days in one year.
  • Versatility for Business and Leisure: The visa caters to the needs of both business and leisure travelers, making it an ideal choice for individuals seeking a versatile travel experience.
  • Enhanced Economic Collaboration: The initiative is expected to open doors for increased economic collaboration between India and Dubai, encouraging partnerships and business opportunities.

Future relations of India and Dubai:

Bader Ali Habib, Regional Head of Proximity Markets at DET, highlighted the significance of this historic milestone in deepening ties between India and Dubai. The visa is not only expected to attract more Indian tourists but also create a platform for increased economic collaboration.

With exceptional flight connectivity and ongoing commitments to the Indian market, Dubai aims to amplify awareness about its diverse offerings, multicultural setting, and abundance of hotels and attractions.

Dubai’s introduction of the five-year multiple-entry visa signifies a monumental step towards encouraging stronger ties between India and the city-state. As travelers look forward to a more enriching and convenient experience, the economic collaboration between these two regions is poised for significant growth.
